5 Tips for Visiting Las Vegas on a Budget
Las Vegas is known for its luxurious hotels, expensive restaurants, smokey casinos, and grandiose entertainment….but it can also be an affordable city if you are looking for budget-friendly locations and are more interested in the nonstereotypical parts of the town–if you know where to visit. Here are five tips to help you save money on your next trip to Sin City–minus the sin and extra costs!
Know Before You Go (accommodations): There is no doubt that you can’t find a hotel on the Las Vegas strip, but of course, it’ll come with a hefty price at some glamorous hotels. Before you go, do your research. Check out which Las Vegas hotels on the strip have deals during the time you plan to visit. Also, check out AirBNBs or budget-friendly places off the strip.
Research Shows Ahead of Time (entertainment): Save time and money by researching shows, attractions, and tours ahead of time online. You may be able to find discounted tickets for performances like From Cirque Du Soleil or helicopter rides over the city lights.
Book Your Flight During Off-Peak Times (flights): Looking for a deal on your hotel? Try booking a flight during off-peak times during a weekday or a less popular time/day. This is also a good way to avoid large crowds at popular tourist attractions around the city.
Sign Up for Free Activities (freebies): Two of my favorite things about Vegas were visiting the famous “Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas“ sign and visiting the Bellagio Hotel’s conservatory. Seeing both places cost zero dollars. And as a bonus, I got my exercise for the day with the extra steps. You can find other free activities like walking and sightseeing along the Strip, visiting Ethel M Chocolate Factory & Botanical Cactus Garden, or visiting the city’s five-block-long entertainment district called Fremont Street.
Food Options (restaurants): Instead of eating at well-known restaurants that come with a high cost, try visiting restaurants on or off the strip. You might be surprised by what you find. When I was researching restaurants, I found an authentic Thai restaurant that was visited by the late Anthony Bourdin. Lastly, consider smaller eateries or buffets that offer better deals and healthier food options!
I hope you enjoy your trip to Vegas, dear friends. If you plan to visit sometime soon, I would love to hear from you in the comments below and learn more about where you visited! Stay healthy, happy, and safe.
With love,
